The Safety Factory's Classic Industrial safety tags are uniquely durable and strong and can be used to record equipment inspection information. They hold up against moisture, dirt, grease, chemicals and extreme temperatures. Each tag has a 3/8 hole reinforced with a metal grommet. Printing is UV protected and encapsulated inside rigid PVC. This rugged material has a durable, hard-matte finish which retains pen, pencil and marker notations and pencil may be erased for multiple use.
Safety tags come in standard size 3-1/8 x 5-5/8 and are also available in custom sizes and custom designs - add your company's logo, or customize your tags with special wording. Safety tags are also available in 2 alternative, economical materials shown below.

When used to identify a hazardous condition, accident-prevention tags are subject to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.145(f). An inspection record is not automatically a lockout/tagout device. The 50-pound requirement in 1910.147(c)(5)(ii)(C)(2) concerns tagout attachments, not a universal pull-strength requirement for inspection-record tags.
Use this general record tag to keep inspection information with identified equipment. It can support records for mechanical, safety, electrical or hydraulic checks. Match the recorded information to the actual inspection and the employer's procedure; this tag does not certify equipment condition or replace a required equipment-specific checklist.
For forklifts, cranes, hoists, ladders or scaffolds, first check the inspection, defect-reporting and out-of-service requirements that apply to that equipment and work setting. Record only checks actually completed. A general Equipment Inspection tag should not be treated as proof that those separate requirements have been met.
When a hazard is found, use the employer's hazard-reporting and equipment-control procedure and a suitable warning. The general-industry accident-prevention tag requirements in 29 CFR 1910.145(f) apply to hazardous-condition tags within their scope and exclude construction and agriculture. An inspection record alone is not a substitute for lockout/tagout.

Record the equipment identification, inspection date, person performing the check and findings or actions required by your procedure. Record only work actually performed; a completed tag does not by itself establish that equipment is safe to use.
Use it only when the format supports the records required for the equipment and work setting. Check the relevant inspection standard and employer procedure first; equipment-specific inspections and out-of-service controls still apply.
